AI engines don’t always use your full company name. They shorten it, drop the suffix, split it in two, or use the product name instead of the company. Every time that happens, the answer is about you and your visibility numbers don’t know it.
After every run, Searchscope checks the answers for name variants your saved brand names miss, and offers them for approval.
It won’t guess
A loose match here is worse than a miss. Call a common word a brand variant and every unrelated answer starts counting as a mention, which quietly inflates every number downstream of it.
So a variant is only suggested when there’s real evidence behind it: at least three answers that mentioned you without the credit. You approve it or you don’t, and nothing changes until you do.
Where to find it
It’s in AI and Brand Intelligence, on your brand settings. Approved variants join the next run and are counted from then on, not applied backwards, so your history stays comparable.
